Tiny Tim
Tiny Tim isn’t a retelling. It’s a rebellion.
Dickens’ A Christmas Carol gave us a boy defined by pity – but now Tim refuses to stay small.
Bold, funny, and unapologetic, this reimagining tears up the tale you thought you knew. Forget sainthood and suffering – Tim wants karaoke, chips, and a piña colada.
The Story so far
Tiny Tim has completed its first public run — and the work is moving forward.
Following a sold-out run at Contact Theatre, Tiny Tim is now entering its next phase of development towards a national tour. This run marked a bold public chapter in a longer journey: testing the work with live audiences, listening carefully to response, and shaping what comes next.
We are currently in conversation with venues, festivals and partners interested in presenting Tiny Tim as part of a future programme. If you are a venue, programmer or partner interested in hosting the show, we would love to hear from you.
What is tiny tim?
Tiny Tim is a disabled-led performance that tears up inherited narratives and rebuilds them on new terms.
Taking a familiar cultural figure, the work rejects pity, charity and moral instruction — replacing them with something bold, funny, complex and human. The show is playful and sharp, full of surprises, and unapologetic in its refusal to follow the expected script.
Written by James Varney (The Writing Squad) with members of Uncurbed Collective’s Ensemble, Tiny Tim places disabled voices at the centre of the story.
Access is embedded into the form of the work, with creative captions and narration woven directly into the storytelling, shaping how audiences experience the performance.
