Proud and Loud Arts became Uncurbed Collective in 2025, marking 25 years of disabled-led creativity, performance and change.
We began life as Proud & Loud Arts in 2000, founded by a group of young disabled artists with a drive to create and perform.
Over the next 25 years, the company grew alongside its artists. We provoked conversation, challenged “the accepted”, told stories rarely seen in theatre, and built a collective of disabled artists creating and shaping work together.
In 2025, as we marked our 25th anniversary, we chose a new name together: Uncurbed Collective.
The name changed, but our history came with us. Work created and developed as Proud & Loud Arts remains part of Uncurbed’s artistic history, with some of that work continuing to develop and tour today.
