About Assessment

A face-to-face performative consultation inspired by the PIP assessment process, placing audiences inside the experience of being assessed. Assessment turns the tables on who gets assessed – and who gets to do the assessing.

Would you take our Assessment?

A face-to-face experience. A series of questions. A tick-box exercise where your answers are measured and assessed – but without the real-world consequences.

Assessment can be presented as a performance or used as a performative consultation, offering venues and partners a way to create the space for audiences and communities to share their experiences and perspectives.

Multiple Assessments can take place simultaneously, allowing the work to respond to different spaces, audience numbers and contexts.

Further possibilities

Assessment can become part of a wider consultation or engagement process, creating opportunities for the responses gathered through the performance to inform what happens next.

The work can also connect to the development of Assessment II, an audience-centred theatre project currently in development. Venues presenting Assessment could become part of that next stage, connecting the experiences and perspectives surfaced through the work with further research and development.

Previously Presented at:  Manchester Art Gallery, The Whitworth, and DaDa Fest International at Tate Liverpool.
